Dr Luke Wilson
MBChB, BA, MSc
Dr Mathew Hobbs
MBChB, BSc

Luke’s whole foods plant-based journey began after reading the groundbreaking book ‘The China Study’ by T. Colin Campbell. After following this up with his own research, and meeting renowned physician, and personal hero of his, Dr Caldwell Esselstyn Jr, when he visited New Zealand in 2010, Luke knew he had found a vocation he was truly passionate about.
since then, Luke has studied and worked in Santa Rosa, California, as an intern for Dr John McDougall at the McDougall Health and Medical Center and also alongside Dr Michael Klaper and Dr Alan Goldhamer at the True North Health Center.
Dr Luke conducted the first whole foods plant-based study of its kind in New Zealand, has completed the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition, and is Board Certified by the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
In 2016, Luke published The 21st Century Food Course alongside friend and co-author, Craig Hagan. Following that he has worked part-time as a general practitioner, and has been invited to speak at events and conferences in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States.
Luke was New Zealand’s first member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He is a member of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and on their New Zealand working group.
Luke is a Board Director and New Zealand Ambassadoc for Australasian charity Doctors For Nutrition. He has experience helping hundreds of people transform their lives by adopting a whole foods plant-based lifestyle.
Matt was introduced to the research base for a whole foods plant-based lifestyle by Luke and adopted this way of eating shortly after doing a bunch of his own fact-checking, altering his favourite recipes, and confirming that coffee was still allowed.
he entered the GP training scheme in Christchurch in 2014 and has had such success advising patients about the benefits of eating more whole foods from plants that some of them even come to see him just for this advice and recommend him to their friends.
Matt has given presentations about whole food plant-based living and its research basis to both the general public and his medical colleagues, and is actively increasing the awareness of lifestyle medicine within the medical community.
after supporting and founding two zesty bananas with Luke, Matt has stepped back as a director in order to concentrate on his family and training commitments, but he will be back.
Matt’s favourite fruit is the banana.

Luke is available for 1-on-1 consultations online, by phone, or in person.
Initial consultations (1 hour) are $249.
